have been keeping an eye on it for several weeks, feeling like running
with time. nothing can hold time back though.
well, let's hope for the best... (hope the job market won't turn so good
so that there won't be a lottery next year? :P )

我向移民局和外交部索取数据，虽然他们是为了打发我，但是也不无道理啊。
I have been requesting such data from USCIS and DOS, however, nobody knows
how many I-485 petitions will be filed for each approved I-140. That's the
issue.
From the government's point of view,
(1) number of I-140 significanlty under-reflect the real demand.
(2) PERM data is 100% transparent
(3) The number of approved I-140 should be about 95% of approved PERM.
therefore, there's no additional data for approved I-140.

大神说说2007/11以来的PERM，每个月有多少？
我觉得经济不好，PERM以后走不通140/485的，可能占3成吧。再按照平均一个140 file
两个 485算。
看看到底有多少潜在demand?

that's a paradox. Every job seeker hopes the market is red hot so he/she can
get a job, but a hot job market will make it harder to get h1 thus might
prevent him/her from working...

所以DOS倾向于用PERM批准数据来预测DEMAND？
这个比用140来预测更难吧?

NO, DOS uses I-485 pending for approval. My first point is that DOS doesn't
use I-140 data to estimate demand. My second point is that if anyone is
interested in I-140 data, she or he can use PERM as a proxy.

So that's why O needs to move the VB to collect new I-485 filings now?
otherwise he won't tell how many demands there are.
