I submitted I-485 with my husband. His company sponsored our applciation. In
this case, am I applicant, or a beneficiary?
It seems that the Service will not answer my question due to I may not the
applicant.

you are the secondary applicant.

Your husband's company is the applicant. Your husband is the benficiary, you
are the dependent.

No, for 485, her husband is primary applicant, and she is dependent/spouse.
Keep in mind that 485 is an individual level application.

When calling USCIS regarding your I-485 application, you are applicant.

Just say you are applicant when you call them.
