important that I hear from you.
In your correspondence, you expressed support for H.R. 3012, the Fairness
for High-Skilled Immigrants Act. This bill would amend the Immigration and
Nationality Act to eliminate the per country numerical limitation for
employment-based immigrants, and increase the numerical cap from 7% to 15%
for family based immigrants. H.R. 3012 was introduced on September 22, 2011
by Representative Chaffetz and passed the House of Representatives on
November 29, 2011.
On November 30, 2011, the bill was received in the Senate. I have placed a
hold on H.R. 3012 because I am concerned about the impact of this bill on
future immigration flows. The bill also does nothing to help American
workers.
In December, I offered a solution to move H.R. 3012 forward. In fact, I
attempted to pass the bill with an amendment that would ensure that American
workers get the first opportunity at jobs in this country. My amendment
would also have given foreign workers more rights, including better wages
and an ability to come forward if they are being abused. There was objection
to this package, so H.R. 3012 is now stalled in the Senate.

Usually R01s and other governmental funds belong to the institute. However,
the PI can usually bring the fund(s)) with them. If they cannot, it will
leave the institute a bad name.

看到chronicle 上有篇文章，没有abc 选项，是按年份说的，说第二年move 比较好，
assumption 是第二年已经做出一些东西有些经验，可以move to a higher ranking
university. 也有说到到接近tenure 的时候move 的，说可能可以跟人家negotiate 过
去以后直接tenured, 但我觉得这个基本做不到
