朋友PD 2011/01，收到NVC fee notice
今天问我这个什么意思：LIVAOS IV FEE FOR NEOPOST DS-1200。说他刚收到。
结果一搜就是NVC的fee notice。不过他人在美国啊。怎么回事。

但是这东西不是应该发给在国外的么？
谁能扫盲一下NVC这个东西是什么东西？他是140 approve，一直在美国。

一月多。具体没问。
pdf里面有他的名字和$794。来自NVC，那就是NVC fee notice没错了。还不明白这到底
是个什么东西。

查了一下，收到这个fee notice的MS要通过 Consular Processing 获得绿卡，就是要
通过美国驻海外使馆获得绿卡，所以即便现在身在美国也要出境去拿卡而不是在境内调
整身份。至于为什么要这样就不知道了，好像是刚开始申请绿卡就决定了的。不知道我
的理解对不对，希望有识之士帮助确认。

because your friend applied for CP
CP could be easily changed to AOS when he submits his 485 request
it doesn't matter where your friend is now. If he applied for CP, he would
get this notice coz he is assumed to go to the consulate to have an
interview to get GC...

Consular Processing? 我们都是公司律师办的，不应该不一样啊。

No.
Sometimes, USCIS makes mistakes. U can easily correct it here.

not necessarily.
I know ppl could request lawyers to do it in different ways (cp or aos) and
the lawyers wouldn't deny coz the fee for the 140 is the same...
