As the immigration topic get hot again, I wonder if we can request the
president to add additional green card quota for STEM majors? For example,
20,000 per year for three years. I believe that can be an executive order,
right?
It is unreasonable and unfair to give EADs directly to undocumented
immigrants while let legal immigrants keep waiting for 5-10 more years,
Chinese and Indians.
If Obama really make up his mind to warrant EAD to illegals, we should
request him to do something to legal immigrants as well. Since the president
has no power to change the law, why not he make STEM as a special case? If
STEMs can get GCs earlier, the rest can get GC faster as well. Obama need
something to cover his dirty ass by giving some soup to legal immigrants.

EAD是临时的文件，和EO的权限相符，总统任期到，给非法的EAD也就不能renew了
绿卡是永居证，EO没权限给。
That is why he cant do it.
另外，奥黑NEVER cares about 合法移民，so he won't do it.

1. 把配偶从EB名额中去除，(Remove Dependent Count):

2. 给140批准后正在排绿卡队的发EAD和AP (Allow AOS upon approval i-140):

3. 还有一个让H-1B能在美国拿Visa Stamp的：
http://wh.gov/lLIKU
Then can any of these be done by Obama? It seems (1) will need to change the
law. What about (2)? At least we should get the same treatment as illegals,
not worse.

在这个国家呆久了，习惯了就好了，各种利益争夺，很多都不make sense,加上有个
worst president ever, 可想而知，呵呵。

法律不是说非法来的不能拿EAD么，H-4不能工作么？
不是都改了么？按你的思路都不可能。

Hold on. I think there is misunderstanding here. I didn't mean these
petitions make no sense ( In fact I signed all three). I am trying to figure
out here what Obama can legally do to benefit people here on this board, or
what we can potentially ask him to do since immigration topic has momentum
now.

Here are some of them which relate to EBs:
• Although he cannot increase the number of family and employment-
based immigrant visas without Congress, he can alter the way family units
are counted against the worldwide visa quota, counting only one number per
family unit against the quota, instead of counting each member of the family
against the quota.
• The administration can grant work permission to spouses of H-1B
professionals and O-1 extraordinary workers, further alleviating pressure on
the H-1B quota. Executive authority has already been used to grant spouses
of other nonimmigrant visa categories the right to work.
He can extend the practical training granted to foreign graduates of U.S.
universities, allowing U.S. employers to benefit from their talents. The
administration has already done this for graduates in science, technology,
engineering and math (STEM) fields where their employers enroll in the e-
verify program.

What about H4 getting EAD? Is this also for black and amigo? I really think
we should learn from Indians, at least they are continuously trying.

奥黑2012年大选前就给非法老莫发过一轮了，要是想给eb发早就发了，人家民主党争取
的对象是文盲，吃福利的，以及同性恋，eb类的就别想了
