I think most small companies do not know much about the whole immigration
process. If this is the case for you, try to be very proactive and educate
yourself on every step. Often times Company tends to be slow if you don't "
push" and you don't know when and how to push effectively if you are not
clear about the process.
Also be involved in the process of choosing the lawyer or law firm if you
can. A good reputable local big practice is a good choice, or if you can
find a good Chinese lawyer, you might get very personalized service and
cheaper. Let the Company knows that PERM (Labor certification) fee has to be
employer's obligation. I140 and I585 can be paid by employee. Try to see if
you pay for the 140 and 585 steps can make the employer more willing to
