Shopping Core
The Shopping Core organization is responsible for much of the Amazon website
including, the product pages, the checkout experience, the home page, and
the navigational elements across the top of all pages as well as our front
end framework for HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This ownership spans front and
backend code for all countries and by the end of 2013, will include all
devices (phones, tables, PCs on web and in apps). While each org has
specific deliverables and roadmaps, each team is primarily focused on three
areas: 1) making mobile shopping great 2) improving the performance of our
site and apps and 3) innovating the shopping experience--given the billions
of impressions we receive every month across these pages, even the smallest
changes can have huge implications on revenue and on latency.

The Amazon Instant Video team delivers high-quality instant video to many
Amazon customers through subscriptions as well as a-la-carte purchases.
Amazon Instant Video works on an ever increasing number of devices, from
computers through TVs, set top boxes and beyond. Our mission is to have the
widest selection of movies and TV shows available on the Internet with the
broadest device support. The Amazon Instant Video team networks with
studios, schmoozes with stars (sometimes!) and delivers high-quality video
to millions of customers. We handle large-scale video processing and
delivery, enable cutting-edge integration with consumer electronics devices
like the Kindle Fire and ship highly scalable customer-facing products and
services. Every day we face the challenges of a fast paced market and
expanding technology set, paving the way to ubiquitous availability of
content and pushing the envelope of streaming video quality. As a core
member of the rapidly growing Instant Video team, you will spend your time
as a hands-on engineer and a technical leader. You will play a key role in
building software products and features from the ground. Your work will
allow you to utilize a melting pot of technologies, programming languages
and systems. Your responsibilities will include all aspects of software
development with the freedom and encouragement to explore your own ideas and
the reward of seeing your contributions benefit millions of Amazon.com

Channel Sales Support
The Amazon Sales Technology group develops software and processes to help
drive the identification, qualification and acquisition of third-party
Sellers. Sales of products by third-party Sellers on our websites represent
more than one-third of the units sold. The Sales Technology team is part of
Amazon’s North American Seller Services organization; we drive growth for
over 2MM Amazon Sellers through business intelligence, cross-selling efforts
and integrated Account Management. We are successful by focusing on
aggressive growth for our Sellers’ businesses.
