问题请教semiconductor process engineer# EE - 电子工程

fresh MS EE，前一阵面试被问到这么个问题：
there are the following 5 problems in production. all of them will be solved
, but you need to give your priority order and explain.
Scrap
Throughput
Yield
Hazard to employees (technicians, engineers, etc.)
Hazardous emission to enviorenment outside the facility
要排个顺序。
目前2个onsite，第一个MEMC in plano 那时候还没毕业，黄了；第二个上个月IM
Flash in utah，自己感觉发挥不错，可惜offer发给了印度女生。
小弟找process engineer的工作，各位前辈若有推荐提携或者建议的，感激不尽！

yield (合格率本来就跟废片和缺陷相关，不知道这个问题到底要考什么）

这个对有工作经验得可能很容易吧。我只做过一点intern，还不是这种大规模fab得，
所以只能凭common sense猜一下：
1. Hazardous emission to enviorenment outside the facility
我觉得这事关company image，如果问题很大的话还会导致官司
2. Hazard to employees
同样的，可能会导致官司
以上2个都是human factor，所以优先，external比internal problem更优先一点。
后面三个 scrap > throughput > yield
不过我迷惑的是前两个不都可以归结到yield吗？不是专门有个职位叫yield
enhancement engineer吗？

关于1和2谁优先，我也比较模糊，估计应该看时间的紧迫与否。如果是设备泄漏啥的，
当然是先搞定内部的问题，然后再搞定外部。yield enhancement估计是针对不同的
product line，比较强调总体的概念；估计作为process engineer，本道工序也存在
yield问题，还有可能将来总体yield出问题了，再反馈回来查出是本道工序的问题。

产量应该是throughput。

原来写错了，应该把defects替换成throughput

解决scrap能提高throughput，解决throughput能提高yield？

安全第一人最重要
Fab里面员工先保证自己的安全
再考虑公司的事情

我在TSMC做过1年半的process engineer，公司的宣传是给customer的产品的quality是
排在employee的safty前面，一直被我们鄙视。
我觉得Master去做process engineer是有些大材小用，FAB里面条条框框太多了。

基本上都是clean room work吧
改进工艺啊，提高yield, failure分析什么的

对于foundry里的process engineer是很平常的问题吧

哪位前辈周围有opening的给提供点信息吧。找工作找得很郁闷。要是我06年夏天毕业
就好了，那时候我们这得人不管好坏全去Micron了，进去就是70k起。现在Micron情况
就不怎么样了。

Of course safety of employee if always N0. 1, no question about it. I
doubt you have ever worked in an american factory if you said no. Then
yield. Depending on environment hazard severity, it might or might not be
cared.
