读书的时候有一次小组讨论，我们提出现在的shopping mall
太千篇一律了，商店的摆设很boring，而且真要买什么，比如
说某型号的电池，灯泡，找起来很不方便，其中一个同学提出
建一种新型的商店，常规商品，如果顾客知道品牌的直接上网
order，不需要店面，只需要shipping，那时候还没有amazon
呢，后来amazon出来了，跟那时候他的设想几乎一样；
另外一个同学说应该有一种play to buy的商店，有什么新产品，
可以展示出来给顾客玩一玩，看一看，不是现在这样进去就买的
样子，昨天我去mall里买圣诞礼物，发现一个新店叫Q-store，
跟这个设想又特别类似。
那个店的装潢很简单，货品不是象超市那样陈列一大堆，就一些
样品在外面，而且都是特别有趣的小东西，比如笔上有一个小灯，
一按就可以亮，可以在车里或者晚上写notes, 还有特殊的可乐
瓶盖，保证开封以后不跑气，还有flash中间出现时间的闹钟，
看起来象虚拟字；还有小挂钩上加警报器，贵重物品挂在上面如
果有人接近可以自己报警，玩起来很cute，也不是很贵。平时我
比较讨厌逛mall，都差不多的东西，而且走一

if you really look around and are creative, you can come
up with lots of potentially great ideas: my roommate and
I dreamed about e-commerce in China in *1987*, except
in our model, it was done by exchange of 5" disks, :)
I had the idea of hybrid auto in '91, downloading music
(via Ftp) in '93. Unfortunately, I was too stupid to act
upon those ideas.
It is through the internet fiasco that I finally realized what
an american dream is: be different, creative, and must

that is so true that sometimes it amazes me that no
one has done it.
for example, I have a dog that needs periodical medical
attention that runs about 3-400 dollars / 3 months.
quite a big expense considering that I don't even spend
nearly that much money on my healthcare.
yet, no one has ever come up with the idea of selling healthcare
insurance for pets. think about the potential market, and
cross-sell opportunities.
that is LOTS of money.

的确是很不错的构想, 应该说是PERFECT构想. 如果你要是有点资本的话, 可以
自己做了. I AM SERIOUS. 就是不知道这允许不:):)

I did my research a year ago when I first got the idea. the biggest
problem is signing up vets: apparently those guys don't want to get
into the situation doctors got themselves into. as a result, vets
collectively don't want to work with a "pet insurance" company.
after that, it is a chicken&egg problem: without signing up enough
vets, you cannot really market the plan; without marketing it, you
cannot sign up lots of pet owners -> less incentive for a given vet
to sign up with you.
