最近在看一篇PAPER，里面用MATLAB算的CODE比较复杂，我对MATLAB编程也不太很熟，写P
APER的人今年刚毕业，去了牛校的B SCHOOL，
这是他的毕业论文，和我现在想写的一篇PAPER有点关系。看到他的PAPER里写，“MATLAB
CODE IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST”
结果5月底我写了几封EMAIL给他，问了几个他PAPER的问题，顺便问他要CODE，结果问题
倒是答了，可是CODE他说要REVISE一下，加点COMMENT，要等到6月底才AVAILABLE。当时
我就觉得他不是很想给，不然那PAPER是你的JOB MARKET
PAPER，都差不多定稿了，你的CODE还没有REVISE完？那你之前去的那么多个SEMINAR都是
在吹？
今天我又一另外一个名字问他要CODE，结果。。。还是一样，说什么我正在REVISE我的PA
PER和CODE，i am very reluctant to send you at this moment, 又说得等几个星期，
要8月底才有，我回信说可以先看看你已经用过的那个么？结果他就再也不回EMAIL了。

ft. when there is 'available upon request', it means he would like
to give his code de. and quite often, if the code is part of his
publication, he should give out the code to others/publish it.
this guy may truely want to fix his code or so. and quite often
people just put their code on their websites for 'available upon
request'.

此言差矣，又不是我逼他的，他自己说的可以问他要，我是没本事写，可是如果他不想给
，他就别装大方，
你的口气倒挺横的啊，几时有机会拜读一下你的大作啊，不过奉劝你一句，世界之大，不
要随随便便就摆出一幅教训人的样子，就算再怎么牛，也说话客气一点不行么，你这样“
寸”，迟早有一天要碰上别人收拾你的。我就不替天行道了。
或者你平时不是这样的，今天碰到什么倒霉事？所以才说话这么冲？

you are right, maybe he really want to fix his code, although neither his
paper nor the code is available on his website.
maybe i think too much, i mean i just don't like that you claim it is
available, but as a matter of fact it is never.

Some people are really nice and some of them are mean. The code is
theoretically a public good to any one, but, it does not mean they will have
to give it to you. His excuse is pretty typical. You probably have to wait for
a while when he may just put the code online somewhere.
当然CODE是不好写，可是你要是觉得这是你的心血不想
