first of all, ITP has no known cause, hence the name idiopathic
thrombocytopenic purpura,
steroid does not boot immunity, on the contrary, it suppress immune response
, as we think anti-platelet antibody plays a role in reducing the platelet
count,
many pts with ITP don't have to be treated, especially when the platelet
count is greater than 30 thousand, the chance of massive bleed is not very
high, thus can be observed,
if decided to treat, steroid is often the first line of treatment, if not,

It was not the paper was under review for 2 months. It was the editor
holding the paper for more than two months without trying to find a referee.

responsible & how busy the editor is.

The worst situation is that your paper somehow is lost somewhere in the
procedure. You can confirm (politely) with the secretary in charge that
everything is in order, IMHO.

5楼说得很对，经常发生这种情况,两个月不算长。特别是欧洲，还有相对比较老的
journal. OP可能是applied micro的？

I lost confidence with the Indian editor: even finally accepted, it could
take three years. So I decided to withdraw the paper and never submit to
the journal again.
