My cooperating teacher,she said to another teacher today that her hourly
wage is $50 based on the actual hrs she worked which is 35hr/wk and 40wk/yr.
BTW: She works for an urban school in upstate New York, and she has more
than 20 years of teaching experiences.

看年薪吧。教师一年一般就教190天，时薪不能说明很多问题。

That's not unusual for a teacher in a good neighborhood, with over 10 years
of experience. Fremont, Ca pays $60,000 to a teacher with Master and 5 years
of experience. New Jersey pays even higher, I heard.
Just the amount of annual salary or even hourly rate does not tell much. For
example, $60,000 is barely enough for Bay Area. Also, a lot of the school
districts that pay relatively high salary don't pay for teachers' medical
insurance, and make no contribution to teachers' retirement plan. The

In our area, the median household income is about $45,000 per year.It is
true that her experiences contributes a lot to her salary, I still think it
is not bad to have $ 70,000 per year in this area. Besides, she is in a
urban school, and I'm pretty sure a teacher with comparable experiences in
suburban schools has higher salaries.
