现在在一家网络软件公司。即有编程又有一些对产品feature的设计。不是CS科班出身
，正在考虑是否继续往开发方面发展，还是往产品管理方面发展。
这个版上的大部分都是software engineer吗？有没有在网络公司里做Product
manager或者其他工作的?

if you have a chance, go for it (product manager), much more fun, more
visible to the management, more money, and yes more presure

谢了。
PM 的skill set是什么呢？感觉有很多和business people的interaction, 听说大公司
的PM都是有MBA的。我现在在一个start-up, 很多东西都不正规，engineer 也都参与产
品设计。

project manager和product manager是两个不同的概念

问的是product manager，见过不少有product manager有MBA。我主要有的只是
technical background。

a PLM needs to have technical understanding of the product and a business
head.
a PLM decides on how and what to be developed for the product. for 'how' you
need to make a judgement based on technology/time-to-market requirements,
etc, for 'what' that's mostly marketing, i think.
plms spend a lot of time with upper management, developers, sales, as well
as important customers. we get visits from plms all the time. lots of
traveling will be needed (if you have a big market) and great communicatio
