I took the FE last Oct and just knew that I scored 85. So I passed as the
required passing score is 70.
I thought the passing score is 50%, //sweating
I prepared the test for one month after work everyday, 2 or 3 hours /day.
I saw somewhere that one guy scored 90 and only prepared for half day. I am
just not that good. Maybe too old...
I think I would fail if I did not prepare at all.
NoW thinking about PE... Would like to share and exchange...

Don't know which state you are in. I'm in NJ. FE here is called EIT. 4 hour
exam, close book. All multi-choices.
I felt FE was a lot easier than PE. PE here is 8 hour open book, very tiring
. BTW, I took General machine design of ME. The biggest trouble I had was
the unit system. In NJ, it's still english units, BTU, inch, DegF, gallon,
pound... second(thank god) All the constants I remember won't work, bye-bye
9.8... I ended up convert twice for each question, Eng.-->SI,calculate, then
SI-->Eng

In addition, PE is all multi-choices too. good for us! I estimate I had 50%
surely right, the other 50%, I screened out 2 out of 4 choices (those are
way off), in the two left I wasn't sure, I made my best guess. The goal --
75%
And my final score was -- 78%. Statistics works!

考试应该是两套题目啊，分别是SI和US单位。你自己选。

Good for you then, I wasn't that lucky. It's different from state to state.

actually, since the standard system here is US system, most of the questions
are in US system, especially for structures, transportations questions.
That is the unit used by most of the references. Most of them are only
written in US system. You might find more questions in environmental using
SI unit.
