A PhD student position is available in the area of biomaterials and tissue
engineering under the supervision of Dr. Yongxing Liu at the Missouri
University of Science and Technology. Research emphasis is tissue-
engineering approaches for repair and regeneration of musculoskeletal
tissues; current work focuses on the innovation of biomaterials for drug
delivery and cell/tissue scaffolding, and human induced pluripotent stem
cell-based therapy.
Applications with a MASTER degree in bioceramics, bioactive glasses or
related areas are preferred. Willingness to work with small animals is
required.Experience in cell culture and in vitro/vivo
assays is a plus. Full scholarship will be provided. The successful
candidate will join a vibrant group of researchers, graduate students,
orthopedic surgeons in the
Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Center for Biomedical
Science and Engineering, and Missouri Orthopedic Institute.
