Nothing made me much happier when I realized that it was a day I could
put away all the burden of living and enjoyed the beauty of nature. The
moon could still be barely be seen over the mountains. I started my
wonderful trip.

"Where do I go?", I asked to myself. Obviously there were not many famous
resorts here. Everytime when I drove on the highway, I could only see the
blue sky and green farms. :(
"Yes! I got it. I will go to see FLOWERs. They are lovely, colorful,
and .. "
But wasn't it better if I could find someone to go with me?

Now I had got a wonderful day and a wonderful idea. The rest should be
relatively easy to solve except... The fact was that there was only one
girl in our station, maybe in the nearby area of three or four miles.
She was beautiful and smart. As a reserved person, she didn't show any
preferences over any people yet. I was a bit excited by the observation.
I imaged that one day I could talk to her elegantly at a proper time and
place. We began with "Hellos" and then talked about our work and live

"What a lovely voice! It must be her". I was kind of exciting at that moment
and turned back. She was beautifully standing there, with smile on her
face.
"Monring, Anne. How nice to meet you!". I replied. Looking into her eyes,
I was thinking what I was going to say.

in my mail box every other week. I donno where it's from, seems each time
it is mailed from a different place... In the evelope there is nothing
but a few landscape pictures... They are really wonderful, I'll say the
pictures are fantastic. With the pictures always accompanies a small
white card telling me where is his next destination."

"Bye~" I replied bitterly, my waving hand frozen in the air. The
conversation didn't go as I expected although it looked promising at first.
Well, I had a wonderful day and a wonderful idea so far. The unpleasant
conversation was just an episode. Not a big deal.
I walked towards my car and threw in it my simple camping stuff. With
a bit dissappointment, I looked back over my shoulder at the door, where
she dissappeared, and pressed the gas pedal hardly.
The next momment, I was humming

It was early summer, not too hot, not too cold. When I buried my neck
in the papers and notes, I never realized how splendid a summer could be.
Just about one and half months ago when I drove down this road, the world
was still covered by the white snow. I could not stop thinking that
there really is a god who controls everything.
Pulling down the window, I felt a strong gust of wind gushing in my car.
"If only it was a convertible". I murmured.

Is there any possibility that "God bless you" comes from
"May God bless you"? Thus we don't say "God blesses you".
Seems to be a special 祈使句.

The car was a red sports sedan. Its water-drip shape drew a dazzling
line as it was approaching, in an incredible speed.
"Crazy speed!"
I turned to the right line to yield its way. A nice car didn't catch as
much of my interest as the trees along the road. But the driver did.
"It's her!" I surprised.
From the rear mirror, I noticed she was wearing a purple suit with a
sun glass covering most of her face. She didn't seem to notice my
accompanying her. "What is she doing here?"

I couldn't describe exactly how I bumped the tree. My only memory about
that was an image of the tree flashed before my eyes and a huge sound as
if the world was turned over by some one, her, of course.
The air bag saved me. I removed the deflated airbag off me, and tried to
find a way out of my car. The engine was still running and the radio guy
was talking about life insurrance. Everything seemed a mess.
I had a sense of angst. Better look at her situation first.
Her car was ten f

"Are you all right?" I asked, eager to know the answer.
"I am fine. I am fine." She repeated the words and somewhat stopped
weeping.
"You sure you ok?" I noticed that she was trembling.
"I am ok. I am ok." She replied, holding her hands tightly across her
body. It was quite windy outside, I noticed.
"Now, Anne, let's go behind that big tree. That might shield you off winds."
I led her to the place and covered her with my jacket. She accepted silently.

I was still thinking how to get out of this damned place, while
was walking toward her.
"Johnason."
"Yeah." When I replied and looked at her, I saw a worried face.
"You know, I, I am so sorry to get you into this accident..."

I sat down beside her. The trees had a nice arrangement that they
looked like a shelter. They had to be though. From the "shelter", I
could see the flowing clouds over the mountains far away. They were
comfortable and carefree. Nothing could make them apart from the
mountains. There was no sound on the road except the wind. Everything
seemed pieceful if I didn't think about those two cars.
I had a moment of dreaming and suddenly came back to the reality.

Those were ancient tricks to gain control of a talk. Although old, they
