"that"后面接的是宾语从句,没错.
宾语从句全句是:Its crust and mantle yield when....

正确答案应该为C. responsible 在此处是动词respond的形容词"作出反应"的意思.
形容词不能单独接名词,be responsible to =respond to,表示对何事作出反应.

D定语从句先行词是Woman's Advocate,指的是一份杂志,所以不能用指代人的who而
应该用which(非限制性定语从句).
