我年底从Michigan毕业，读了两个master，一个是环境工程，一个是自然资源与环
境科学（concentration on sustainable system）.毕业论文研究方向是life cycle
analysis os water-reuse system.10月份准备考FE。没有工作经验，去年暑假在
Stonyfield （一个有机酸奶公司）实习了三个月，但是做的东西和环境工程毫不相干~
是做产品包装材料的。
年底毕业希望能换个地方，很多人说加州好，但是我一没工作经验，二来加州好学校
多，公司估计也不愿意招从北方过来的fresh graduate.
同时也听说boston也不错，毕竟在北方，大概从Michigan招人的可能性还大些。
因为从来没有找过工作，在这方面不是很有经验（去年的实习找了半天都没有找到，最
后还是这个酸奶公司也是歪打正着，做的东西也不是很对口）。
希望大家能帮忙提点建议，比如找工作需要做些什么准备。因为下学期要选4门课，
还有毕业论文，估计花在找工作上的时间很少。所以想在这个暑假就开始准备。

你是说学的什么课，还是时间的分配，或是学分要求？
关于学分要求方面：
工程要求30学分，另外一个专业要求42学分，这两个学位直间很多课可以交叉使用，所
以一共只要选不到60学分就行了。这样每个学期选10多学分（大概3-4门课，加上
research学分），就够了~

也不一定要限制在环工领域，酸奶公司我看不错，pay的不一定有环境或Civil的少，工
作强度应该还小吧

在企业里面做的东西类似与环境管理和strategy的东西，技术含量很低。。。而且这个
方向外国人非常不占优势，大部分都是美国人做的好，主要靠‘白活’。实习的时候$
20/h,比环境工程略低。工作强度确实不大，但是很没有意思，自己做的没有同去的美
国人做的好，很没有成就感~所以还是想找个有技术要求的工作。

become a returnee in the future. Your experience with manufacturer will
develop your management skills, QA/QC protocol, and regulatory compliance (I
assume your plant will also meet some discharge requirements)
If you have a chnace to take a look at job openings in China, most of them
are related to production management and quality control. There are only
quite a few openings to folks who have consulting firms experi

I'm wondering if you can give us more info about "QA/QC protocol, and regulatory compliance", especially application in environmental area, and possible job opportunity when back to China.
I once read some basic stuff about QA/QC before and guess it might be a hot spot in the future.

QA/QC protocol is composed of various doucments on standard operating
procedures, monitoring plan, correctiive action plan, and emergency response
plan. You need the SOPs and routine montioring program for product quality
controls. Corrective action or emergency response plan give you standard
procedures if your factory is facing terrorist attacks (intentional
poisoning injects), power failure, and source polluted.

很好.
只是我在酸奶公司的工作还没有那么 technical.在不到三个月实习期间，我只是用
excel整理公司产品包装材料的年消耗量和成本，还帮公司填写了walmart sustainable
packaging scorecard.最后和另外一个intern合作给这个酸奶公司制作了自己的的
sustainable packaging scorecard，用于他们每年自我评估产品包装材料的
sustainability。其实感觉自己做的东西更接近corporate social responsibility~
因为除了环境工程，我的另外一个学位是侧重在 life cycle assessment, 当时找实习
的时候也没有在简历中提到环境工程的学位。
真不知道这样的实习经历能不能帮我毕业在美国找到工作~估计环境咨询公司大概不会
看重这种不technical的实习经历吧。

在企业的环境部门工作也不错吧，我一个师姐就在雀巢纯净水的环境部门实习，然后毕
业后就留在那里工作了...
