诚心请教。在TX，明年夏天毕业，想问问在石油或天然气公司的前辈，
（1）这类大公司一般什么方向的opening 比较多---air or SHE(Safety, Heath &
Envi.)?
（2）在这类大公司做与在consulting firm 有什么大的区别？
（3）从校内career center或者career fair 上投简历与直接从公司网站投差别大不大
？（学校的石油系很牛，所以经常有石油公司来开宣讲会）。

TAMU还是UT啊？石油公司最大的问题就是身份，environmental方向多数是不给
sponsorship的，另外工作经验也是个问题。lz是什么背景？

多谢楼上的回复，今天专门了解了一下，确实很少sponsor international student,虽
然石油系同胞们offer 一个接一个的来。我还是专心于找consulting吧。
学得一样辛苦，出来薪水才是人家的1/2-2/3，想想真是....唉。

能拿到石油公司2/3的薪水都算高的。他们很多起新10万。关键年终分红多，可以买自
己公司股票（年均线15%以下），加上401k什么的。同样的phd，工作一年，估计综合起
来是他们一半。
一般consulting，给phd 6万起薪就很不错了。

I am working in an oil company and my major is Environmental Engineering.
Basically all "actual environmental work" is done by consulting companies.
Our company has only two types of environmental poisons: project manager who
interacts w/ consulting companies OR environmental technical researcher who
normally has Ph.D degree and develop new environmental technologies and
provide internal technical expertise. The capital fund spending on
environmental projects are still increase these years in my
