Thanks for the Auto industry (as of ur interest), LED rivers, PMIC will perform well in the coming years, IMO. Medical is another OK mkt that will demand some low power ICs and low Frq RF , while the cycle is long and margin is small, compared to consumer e. RF is RF, hot right now. It’s said RFMD is doing well, right?

"It’s said RFMD is doing well, right?" I wouldn't bet on it. there core market (RF power amps) is going through a sea change. more and more digital functions are being incorporated into and the chip set makers are mastering more power: they will buy rf transceiver modules and integrate them onto their silicon. I tend to imagine that it is going to be hard for rfmd to survive on its own.

Unless he wants to become a professor in the future, it is unnecessary for him to study abroad.
haha.. Should your LD wants to stay in the field of environmental consulting business in the future, it is much better for him to gain engineering experience in lieu of studying in a university. In addition, do not overrate these so-call experts from World Bank, their knwoledge and technical capabilities are inferior to those from American national environmental consulting firms. To my knowledge, these world bank experts have no idea how to design any water or wastewater treatment plants. The
People in water resource group in consulting firm need strong modelling experience and good tecnical writing skills. such as TMDL.. Unless you and your wife would like to have some experience of uncertain future and being strangers in foreign contry, it will be no reason for you to make this move.
I would suggest you checking with the editors and associate editors of the following journals: Jounrnal of Water Resources Planning and Management (ASCE) Water Resources Research (AGU) (check those focusing on water management and policy aspects) Many are very good professors in this field - quite a number of them are very nice people as well.
I applied for the YP program last year and went through a few screenings. Here is what I learned from an insider, not my own experience though: The YP program at the WB may not be as glorious as it sounded. Someone that finished this two year program could not find a job position in the US, if they did not make it to stay at the WB. The main reason is what they do as a YP does not require the skill sets that most american companies need. To some degree, working at the WB was like "retiring when
