Does someone know what it means?
"you need to be admitted before you can apply for assistantship."
How do you understand it?
For example: it is for Fall 2011.
If,just imagine that, I get information that I am admitted for Fall 2011,
then do you think I can apply for the assistantship right now? Or it means
that I
have to study for sometime in the program, then I can apply for
assistantship?
Can someone help here? Thanks a lot.

进的是PhD的program，但是不打算做学术，所以想找工作试试，能找到可能就那个硕士

做的就是nutrient在河道输移的模拟，也有做泥沙的输移，都是做的modeling，不知道
好不好找工作，弱点可能是我的学位是在地理系，而不是engineering...但是因为老板
两边都招人，因为在地理系，所以GIS之类的还行，web GIS也做过（不过这个好像和建
模没什么关系）。想问问容易找工作么？大概哪些公司会要啊？地理的学位会对找工作
有影响么？

做你这个方向的公司招人要求比较高，如果没有业界经验，还是会招phd。不过你的背
景还是很有意思的，会工程的东西，还会webGis，人才。
找工作还是要推荐，还有学校的招聘会，其它的方式，都是吃亏不讨好。
