Postdoctoral positions are available in the area of cardiac development,
cardiac fibrosis and cardiac regeneration in the laboratory of Dr. Mingfu Wu
at the Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology at Albany Medical
College. Candidates are sought to join a rapidly growing translational
research program focusing on mechanism of congenital heart diseases, cardiac
fibrosis and heart failure. Projects are supported by NIH/HBLI and AHA
grants. Studies will rely on single cell lineage tracing and different
genetic modified mouse models to reveal cellular and genetic mechanism, and
on molecular and biochemical techniques to reveal underlying molecular
mechanisms. Significant prior training in developmental biology, mouse
surgery models, immunology, genetics, or biochemistry is strongly desirable.
The successful applicant must have excellent scientific, organizational,
record-keeping, and problem-solving skills. Specific duties include:
Identifying research problems and designing research methodologies, Assist
in the writing of grants and manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals,
Submitting abstracts to conferences, Presenting at conferences, Additional
duties as requested by the principal investigator. Salary is commensurate
with experience and achievements( $42,000~ $45,444) . Interested
