brooks brother, j.crew, hikey freeman, clvin klein collection
ralph lauren black label, hugo boss

If you are on a budget, you could get a very descent shirt for around $200-$
300 and spend less on outwear.
I have a H&M overcoat for about $300, it's not comparable to any of these

I would actually wear it to an interview since I will take it off once I

Suit:

Get a couple of made-to-measure shirts, one white, and one light blue.
Shoes: Cole Haan black captoe oxford. About $150.
Remember, when getting the suit, ask the shop to do alterations. Assuming that you have the typical slim Asian physique: take in the sides of the suit at least 1 inch each side; take in the pants at least one inch each leg, and have the bottom of the pants hemmed with just a tiny touch of break above the shoes, and no cuffs.

The first one is OK. There are a number of problems on the second one:
The shoulder is too wide.
The sleeve hole is too big.
The sleeves are too long and too bulky.
The chest and waist should be slimmed down.
Overall, aside from the traditional slack/bulky cut, the coat is 1-2 size
too big on this guy.

what you are talking about, is dressing out of context, or out of one's

i don't think "well fitting" equals "figure-hugging gay".
a good fit is a good fit, it doesn't matter whether it's in the US or Europe
, or China. my definition of a good fit is no extra fabric, no unnecessary
wrinkles, and no unreasonable restriction to movements.
there might be some confusion between "silhouette" and "fit." The "figure-
hugging" style you are talking about, is the "designer" "shrunk suit" cut/
silhouette. it's trendy right now, but not stylish in my book.
would you consider these guys "gay"? they are all wearing what i call well-
fitting suits.

those are suits. I'm talking about coats, in particular, the 1st coat in the

I agree that the sleeve hole is too big, but I think the shoulder and waist
is OK. Slim fit is heavily promoted in GQ and other fashion magazines,
because so many guys here wear cloth 2 size bigger than their actual size (
which I think it's not the case in the second picture). Like a Chinese old
However, taking in the waist of the coat will make you look nicer.

In most cases, you wear a coat one size bigger than your suit size(
depending the fitting of the brand of course, some brand already take into this into consideration). Tailoring the coat according
to your body shape will certainly look better.
In my experience, wearing something tight will make you look good (well,
sometimes gay looking) but not really comfortable.

the problem is though, most guys wear a suit that's at least one size too
big. then you'll have to get a coat that's another size bigger just to feel
ok. if one gets a good fit with the suit, the coat can be snug and
comfortable at the same time.
that's why proper alteration of the suit is so important.

Thanks for sharing this with us !
Classic is timeless. We are all inspired by the past.
One of my favorite is the Paul Newman look re-posted by Sebastian Stan on GQ
, very classic and simple.
Now all those you posted are going to my collection.
