Just came across a thread in a US purse discussion forum about Chanel handbag price
increase.
The SA from the Chanel store told the customer the reason of Chanel price increases
" it's also to prevent, well, lower income people from buying".
What do you girls think about it?

有时候消费者心理是非常奇怪的。有些品牌一旦树立了自己的地位之后。对消费者荷
包的宰割基本是为所欲为啊。因为消费者会永远觉得。“再不买，又涨价了。还是现在
买合算”
我觉得和恋爱关系很象。比如你越不睬对方，对方就越重视你；你越在乎对方，对方就把你不当回事。
所以经常那些跳楼大甩卖的或者打折太厉害的东西，你反倒会好好想想要不要买。

It is very true, just like the relationship, my aunt always told me not to
spoil my LG, otherwise, he will not treat me that good. Haha.
I remember my first designer bag is a Coach, and it was full price item
about $198 before tax in a regular store in the mall. Couple of months later
, i saw it in the outlet store at half price, that is the end of me buying
full price Coach item. I think i am a fool to buy any full price Coach item,
I just think it is not worth the price.

I agree, but it is ugly truth to hear from a Chanel SA. And Chanel wants to be as exclusive as Hermes, that is the reason they keeps increase the price of its classic bags to limit the group of customers to use it. They only wants their bags to associate with high income and good image people.

I agree, i just like the design and quality of those designer handbags, but
i guess the price can't justify the
quality for some top designer handbags now.
