What I heard, 2 drawbacks:
Your loan from your 401k, even though you don't need pay penalty, you still
need use your after tax income to pay back your 401k loan, which will be
taxed again when you retired.
And also, if you change job, you need to pay back all your 401k loan right
way to avoid penalty.

the first one is not really true and always misleading. You are NOT double-
taxed for the $$ you borrowed, the only drawback is the interests you paid
is not Tax-deductible as in a mortgage.
Think about this: no matter what kind of loan you borrow, you have to pay
the principle with after-tax $$, so does 401k loan.

This is correct.
BTW the interest that you pay will still go to your own 401k account. So
that's really not a big deal.

如果买个房子, 首付都需要动用401k里面的钱,
那说明目前还没有足够的经济实力买房子, 还是
再存几年钱吧.
按照一般的标准, 应该是付了首付后, 手里依然有
可以维持半年的钱(包括半年的房贷), 也就是至少
几万块钱吧.
