I am interested in the following:
1. texas hold'em: only started playing about less than one year ago, a
conservative and tight player, have only played it in casinoes 4 times, mostly
play with friends.
2. Pai-gow poker: enjoyed its slow pace, a good way to spend time in casinoes
in my opinion.
3. Blackjack: I play it mainly because of its simpleness and relative small
house edge.
4. Slots: I know this is a loser's game, but I like playing slots, not sure
why.

which hold'em did you play, limit or no limit game
i usually play limit, not gain much, but from no limit tournament
i always made to the final table, hehe, but all small tournament,
not much

how small is small? what is buy-in?
I attend 3 touneys,
34 ppl -- 1st place
178 ppl -- 5th
150 ppl -- knocked out early

anyone has experience of the tournaments in Vagas?
such as which hotel has it going all the time, amd more tables....

I play limit game at casinoes, play pot limits with friends.
Never played any tournament yet, but will definitely try some time later.
how much is the buy-in for your "small" tournament?

next time I go to vegas, I'll definitely play a samll tournament.
but I think every decent-sized casino will have some kind of tournament, the
buy-in can be quite different though. Just guess, had zero experience here.

ppl tend to like tournament when they first play poker because it's like a
stop order. however, cash games are really more fundamental than tournament.
in cash games, odds is pretty much the only thing you care, while in
tournaments, there are too many others such as blinds and stacks.

yeah, different strategies for limit & no-limit, tournament & cash games.
a professional can almost guarantee to win at cash games from amateurs all the
time, but can't be so sure about winning a tourney with the same amateurs.

I am not really good at odds, so I usually lose big
in limit hold'em.
