990 is perfect score. but 99% is perfect percentage. u will never see
99% in phy or math since too many guys have high scores. The highest
may be 95% or 97%. I am not sure.
I knew some guy got 960. Really smart.
anyway, I don't see it help me a lot.

math is easy to take the perfect score 990, but the percentage is not good
87% in 1997, 85% in 1998. Generally i think it is not very useful.
But if you really want to take the sub, you can make the decision according
your research interests. For some research directions, a strong background
in math will benefit u. I took math just because my under study is not in CS
, but I want to study in CS. For cs sub, I do not know much.

Math is usefule for graphics and vision, theoritical computing algorithm,
scientific computing, robotics, machine learning, etc. For hardware, OS
and netowrk, it is not as important as CS sub. Just individual view.
