Just arrived yesterday. I can get about 10~11MB/sec for samba with 5GHz a/n
through one wall. In this case, it's 3 times faster than my previous G
router. The indicated rates fluctuate from 115Mbps to 180Mbps, never reached
300Mbps. I guess 5G penetrates less than 2.4G, but is there a way to boost
the signal a bit more? I don't remember if there is a way to hook up an
external antenna. Even if I can't use antenna, this is already good enough
for 2~3 simultaneous x264 1080p streaming. Will check
through one wall. In this case, it's 3 times faster than my previous G

The bottlenack of the smb is that smb service is built in the router, the CP
U cannot handle that much data through smb to the attached USB harddrive.
I will give a try using the HP smartmedia tonight.

My 5300 works fine in both a/n mode and a/g/n mode. Haven't tested 5100 in
my old T400 though.

connecting to my NAS server running Opensolaris 09.06. I believe it can be
much faster if I move my laptop into the same room.
