I had two 7200.11 500GB and I did RMA three times.
One RMAed drive needed RMA again.
Then I sold both of the RMAed drives and now I don't
need to worry about it. :-)

maybe because of some unknown reason some people's fail so fast

from 1TB era, Seagate got far more complaints than WD and Samsung.
Seagate is clearly losing on consumer market. WD just overtook Seagate as No
.1 in terms of total # of HDD shippment.
I too have a few 7200.11 that are working fine so far. I was interested in
7200.12 but never dare to touch them after seeing the obvious problems.

well, my other drives are all OK--except those 7200.11
All my computers are powered by APC UPS.
