都是为了父母 ... 对他们来说, 计算机太复杂...不是太方便
现在用 Dish Network. $30/month.
我不想hack my PS3, though I can watch tudou.com, not cctv.com, with my PS3.
I can setup a media server and stream TVs to PS3. However, this still is
too complicate for my parents to operate it.
I am ok to hack WII. But don't know how to add TV stations into hacked
WII.
One idea is to buy some TV stream capable set-top box, the operation of
which should be similar to the operation of a set-top box from dish
network, and register those free Chinese network TV stations into it.
However, I can't find one.
Any clue?

I think you're looking for PBO. Lots of guys in mitbbs are working on
hacking/customizing it

其实关键是哪个网站能看实时的中文电视台啊？

我没有研究过pbo是怎么个搞法的。不过我最近看了个朋友推荐的www.mybe.tv，觉得不
错，就是换台慢了些。如果能整个externalbox，然后把上面的节目整合进去，那是相
当的满意。

HTPC should be a good solution though.... I more prefer a simple solution,
which has a short bring up time and shut off time ... and much easier for
parents to use.
I am thinking about PBO liked solutions.

Yeah .... I am looking at some PBO liked solutions ... DO you how to do
it?
1) Add a VLC client into it?
2) add a flash-enabled brower? like ie? I visited cntv using WII's
opera. It doesn't work. It seems the flash is not good enough. I
checked cntv with PS3. It ask me to download and install plug-in, which
is not easy.
How PBO hand the video stream feeds? and where can I find the address of
cntv's streams?

Is www.mybe.tv windows based or linux based? can we add it into PBO?
