两个朋友在11月中一起买一栋房自己住。一个是大学刚毕业刚工作，另一个还在读大学
。两个人都没有交过税，刚拿到绿卡一年多。会计师说只能拿回5000多，可是我想不出
有什么条件限制他们拿回所有的credit。难道还有其他限制吗？

for the 8000, it's lesser of $8000 or 10% of house price. As such, there is
only the case that the house sells for ~$50k. I did not know where 120k
comes from.
I would suspect the income cap would take effect either. It is a credit and
requires no tax-paying.
