I have summarized a full list of materials and tools needed for nail-in
hardwood floor based on my experience. This might be useful for rookie
DIYers like myself who want to DIY hardwood floor. Experts or gurus are
welcome to correct me but pls donot laugh at me. I have learned a lot from
this forum and I just wanted to contribute a little bit so that fellow
DIYers might benefit. I will list materials and tools in the order that they
are used. I might miss some materials/tools here.
1. Buy hardwood boards and acclimate in rooms;
2. Pry bar, hammer (remove old baseboards. Mark the baseboards and the
walls if you want to reuse the baseboards). Sand papers and semi gloss
paint (to sand and paint the old baseboards to be reused); Pry bar will also
be used to squeeze the last boards of each row and the last few rows);
3. Utility knife (to undercut drywall);
4. 1-1/2 or 2 “ wood screws, drill bits, drill (to drill pilot holes
and add screws to fasten loose subfloor); If you have a unfinished basement
and find some old nails did not go into the joists, it is a good idea to
remove those nails and add new screws. Put some glue or wood filler to fill
in those nail holes. Also if there is no way to drive screws into joists
because butting subfloor edges are not laid perfectly on joists, you might
need to add 2x6 lumber to brace the joists so that your added screws will be
in the 2x6 lumber you just added.
5. Hammer down any popping nails;
6. A belt or palm sander (to sand butting edges of subfloors and/or high
spots);
7. A 8’ level (to check levelness of subfloor) or you can buy a very
straight lumber board to do this;
8. #15 and/or #30 felt papers and/or roof shingles and/or plywood sheets
to fill in low spots;
9. Shop Vac cleaner (to clean subfloor)
10. Aquabar B500 or #15 felt paper or rosin paper (to be used as
moisture retarder);
11. A measure tape, straight chalk line (to determine center line of the
room and snap the line for the first row of boards);
12. Finish nailer and 2” finish nails (to face nail the first row of
boards); you can use the same finish nailer to blind nail the 2nd row if
needed; make sure you leave expansion gaps and check if your baseboards can
cover the gaps if you donot want to use quarter round; To avoid splitting
the boards, it helps if you put tapes to cover the boards before you nail;
13. Compressor, air nailer gun and 2” cleats or 2”staples (to install
other rows of hardwood boards); Practice with a scrap board to make you have
the right pressure and how hard you should strike the hammer; Also make
sure your air nailer has the right plate for the thickness of your hardwood
boards;
14. #15 and/or #30 felt paper ( to put under boards as needed if the
subfloor is not level); you do not want gaps between boards and floor after
they are nailed;
15. Table saw with miter guild or miter saw (to cut the last board of
each row);
16. Undercutting saw (to cut door jams);
17. Jigsaw or a suitable hand saw (to scribe hardwood boards when
installing boards into closets and/or through a adjoining room); Think ahead
before you reach the closets to determine how you want to install into
closets;
18. Table saw again (to rip the boards for the last row near the wall).
You might need to rip the boards for the first rows also so that the last
row is wide enough to be face nailed. I f it is hard to determine if you
need to rip the first rows and you end up with very narrow last row, you
will need to glue the last narrow boards with glues such as liquid nail;
Fail nailing narrow boards will split them;
19. Suitable Transition strips (to connect different floors);
20. Wood putty (to cover nail holes);
21. Sand and paint baseboards or paint new primed baseboards;
22. Stud finder to find studs in the walls and install baseboards with a
nailer;
23. A carpenter’s plane (to scribe baseboards if necessary when walls/
floors are not straight/level); you do not want big gaps;
24. Silicone or phenolseal vinyl caulk to cover gaps above and below
baseboards. Run a bead of caulk and wipe with a clean damp cloths repeatedly
to make sure no caulk on the wall/floor.
25. Miter saw (to bevel cut new baseboards);
26. Fill in nail holes and joints in the baseboards with caulk;
27. Touch up with paints.

公司没有创新但价格年年上涨,机海战术丢了重点,自持为大忽略消费者。CEO的价值
观念直接影响和贯穿整个企业文化和产品,和Tesla startup风格的CEO相比,果子快烂

If you work as a volunteer for an employer or a professor, you need a
confirmation letter from them to prove that you work at least 20 hours per
week.

那要看你学校的移民官需不需要你的文字证明了。移民局需要看到的只是学校填上的一个数字。
