Your story is not that bad vs. mine. So hopefully this would make you feel a
little better,
2003 Aug graduated, use student EAD to work part time (all types of work)
till 2004 July to get the job offer in a tiny size company (6 ppl) which
promise to do the H1B.
H1B application turned in at the very last day of EAD expiration, and got
audit soon. Working was forced to stopped and stay home to wait for audit
result, and finally got approved at the last minute before I made decision
to go home.
6 months later, got laid off and transfered to another small company (30 ppl
) in order to maintain H1B non gap. This company promised to do the GC but
kept holding till 2 years later I have got offer from another US company,
which pays better but have very few international employee -- which is very
bad, since the HR dont'understand anything but just follow what the attorny
says.
The new company attorny really sucks. Urge me to go back to China to have
new visa stamp to start the employment. Also only put me to EB3 category BY
HIS UNDERSTANDING. Arguing back and forth, getting mad to see the 2007 open-
gate got passed. Then in 2008 decided to go back to China after that many
number of years suffering.
HOWEVER, still another last minute offer from my current company held my
step. My only request to my boss and HR is no holding the HR process and
start it right away after starting work. They agreed and it only takes 8
months to reach the 140 approval stage.
To be honest, I am not that depressed when retrieving the past years
experience. I can seep any sweetness to the least extent surving the
bitterness, which trained my sensitivity and strong nerve. That is not too
bad!
