本人在学校工作, 140已批, 485(包括765) pending,申请H-1延期时,因系里耽误,且寄
错了地方,等寄到正确地址时,为时已晚(大概晚一两天). H-1 status批准,但延期被拒.
请问这种情况下还能否合法工作?
我的理解是,485 pending允许我在美合法居住,H-1 Approval允许我合法工作,加起来就
没有问题了. 是这样吗? 若不是,有什么办法保住工作吗?

so your h1-b is not expired yet? if so, you can keep on working and
apply for extension again.

1. late by 1 or 2 days? what's the deadline?
2. what does "status approved, extension denied" mean?

多谢回复。
是这样，老的H1B在六月底失效，新的H1B申请材料在七月初才寄到，于是新旧H1状态衔
接不上。

多谢回复。
1. Yes. A few days gap.
2. I think this means my H status was discontinued. According to the rules, I
have to leave the country and come back to activate the new H status.
