You must use USCIS designated civil surgeons to do the exam. But it is not
required to be in the state you live in. However, I figure it would be the
easiest to do so. I don't know why going to another state and do the exam is
somewhat better.

I am in New Hampshire, only 2 doctors available based on USCIS website, and
one just quited, the other one is 2.5 hours away from my home, so I think
maybe going to Mass is a good idea.
