Chair 建议我要求 a tenure track AP 9-month salary:$ 55,000-60,000
Dean 给了我去年学校的 AP salary list. 我发现最高才$69,000，真心不高啊。
我该怎么要求阿？我好像都不敢要求$65,000阿，虽然他们说我是list top1, 我后面是
两美国人。
不会negotiate, 恳求建议，谢谢

看着跟我们专业的工资水平这么接近。。你不能看所有AP的salary，即使一个学院专业
之间差别很大的，我母校那边同一个系不同方向都差别很大。
你找找看你们系最近几年跟你方向接近的新AP的salary，这样的才有参考价值

多谢！ conference所在的国际学术组织的杂志报导了我还把文章刊登在杂志上并登
了我获奖照片这个将来用处大么？以前问一个朋友说学生奖没用

As long as you do not insist and threaten in any way, you can ask for $65k.
Once the chair calls you back, and give you a number, you probably have to
say yes. Never say my minimum is such and such. Use words such as "Would you
consider a startup salary of $65k".

学生奖一般不能单独用于claim award.
但放在contribution应该没坏处，不过也要注意措词。因为eb1a要求是所有人中最牛的
，过分强调自己shi学生中最牛的，也不太合适

Be polite as what Windown suggested when you express your request, it will
be fine. Unless you have a second offer at your hand, the number you ask
have to be reasonable, if you know what is their new hires in recent years.
Usually all salaries of all employees at public universities are available
online if you google it. Otherwise, you can ask some general figure near the
top of the AP salary, adding some reason as rising of real estate values in
the areas in recent years, etc.

我的科研背景远远强过teaching，teaching 语言要求很高，而语言是我弱项，但我
宁愿从此永远放弃科研，被薄厚经历深深的伤害了。

觉得Chair的话一定要参考的。
如果你在校园访问的时候，如果有结识的熟人，觉得信得过的话，可以私下里可以问问
大概的salary range。
此外，如果你没有其他的offer在手上，觉得salary negotiation会比较吃力（手上没
有bargaining power），前些时候看到版上有个帖子，是发帖者的导师对她在salary
negotiation上的建议，你可以看看(至少对我非常有用）。

不要想的太复杂。就说能否考虑$65k？
明确一个数字。

没有人会为几千块钱换一个人的。
