Timeline:
NIW RD June 2007
NIW AD February 2008
I485 RD August 2007
EB1B RD October 2010
PP April 21 2011
AD April 27 2011
My background:
Ph.D in EE from a US university. Working in industry for 5 years.
3 Journal papers (2 on top ones in my field and 1 shitty one), 2 book
chapters, 7 conference papers. 1 pending patent.
50+ citations and most are independent.
10 reviews. 1 senior membership from a professional association.
2 media reports about products I developed but no name mentioning.
7 recommendation letters ( 1 from government, 1 from current company, 3 from
US university professors, 1 from UK university professors, 1 from an
European company director).
My case is not strong. I think several things contributing to its approval
by PP without RFE
1. My recommendation letters are very GEILI. I don't have any big NIU
writing letters for me. But most of them signed the letters without much
change (they all know this is just a game). My LD helped me a lot in
preparing them.
2. My lawyer is pretty good and she knows her business. She has been working
with my company for quite a lot similar cases and she knows what type of
bullet points need to be put there. The petition letter is very concise but
clearly points out the contributions which can strike the IO.
3. This one I am not very sure but just an conjecture. I have an approved
NIW case at TSC also. I think it helps somehow. NIW and EB1B are in
different categories but they are related somehow. My lawyer actually used
some languages from my NIW case to EB1B.
I got quite some help from this board and got quite some review
opportunities here (which is still low, he he).
Hope everyone gets his/her wishes fulfilled soon,
