Glenda Moore clung desperately to her two small sons as wave upon wave
pounded their SUV in the middle of a flooded Staten Island street.
Seconds later, the boys disappeared in the killer floodwaters, with their
terrified mom left to swim for her life and pray for theirs.
Connor and Brandon Moore remained missing Wednesday, two days after they
disappeared as Hurricane Sandy pounded the borough.
“She was holding onto them, and the waves just kept coming and crashing and
they were under,” the mother’s sister told the Daily News at her home. “
It went over their heads … She had them in her arms, and a wave came and
swept them out of her arms.”The mom was driving along Father Capodanno Blvd
. on the island when the rushing waters trapped her and the two kids - ages
2 and 4 -inside the car. Glenda Moore managed to escape the quickly-
flooding vehicle and free both boys from their car seats, only to lose her
desperate struggle with Mother Nature.
“The waves just came and started crashing on the car,” said her sister,
who declined to give her name. “She said she got shoved, and then the wave
just took the car and flipped it over. She was knocked down.”
About two dozen police officers were searching for the missing kids in a
marshy section of Staten Island just off Father Capodanno Blvd. The mom was
helping to lead the hunt despite suffering hypothermia during a night spend
outside during the worst of the storm.
"They're the most beautiful children ever," said the sister. "One's a
redhead, the other a dirty blonde."
According to the sister, a dripping-wet Moore banged on doors looking for
help in the middle of the hurricane, but couldn’t find anyone willing to
help her.
"They answered the door and said, 'I don't know you. I'm not going to help
you,’” said the sister. "My sister's like 5-foot-3, 130 pounds. She looks
like a little girl. She's going to come to you and you're going to slam the
door in her face and say, 'I don't know you, I can't help you'?'”
Moore spent the night huddled on a doorstep as the hurricane’s assault
continued. At daybreak, her sister said, the desperate mother walked until
she found a police car and related her heart-breaking story.
Initially, the sister feared that Moore was gone along with her sons.
"We'd been trying to call around all night long,” she said. “I was calling
every precinct, shelter, trying to get some word and there was nothing. And
then they called me and said, 'We found your sister,' and I was just like,
'What about the children?' They said they didn't find the children."
The family was hoping for a miracle as the hunt for the two kids stretched
into its second day.
"We're just hoping and praying with every phone call they have good news for
us, something,” she said. “We're just waiting - hoping and waiting."

Drown is quick and silent. A child who's underwater will lose
consciousness after two minutes and suffer irreversible brain damage
within four to six minutes. 等她爬到高处,敲门,解释,对方准备完毕,出
门,回到出事的地方,开始搜索 --还来得及吗?两岁和四岁的孩子,分
开的那一刹那就该知道是什么结果了。
网上有一个人的评论是这样的:
She should have evacuated her small children in advance of the
storm. Having been caught by the storm she shouldn't have tried
to drive in it. Having tried to drive in the storm, she should have
avoided a route that took her through water. Having been warned
to evacuate, decided to drive with her boys, in a savage storm,
and been caught in a broken down car in an area inundated with
strongly flowing water, she shouldn't have opened the doors of the
car. If she decided that she had no choice, she should have taken
the boys one by one to higher ground. My sympathies are with her
and her husband and their families, but that doesn't change the
facts.
当时是否还能待在车里我不太清楚,不过我非常同意的是,她无论如何不
该在这种天气里开车把两个孩子带出门,特别是早就有飓风警报了。虽然
很同情,但她真的是没有尽到做妈妈的责任。:-(

both.
Similar to your LG, I have also graduated for some time till now. The reason
I start now rather than earlier is also due to my own mental state. I wasn'
t feeling quite ready then, it's an inner voice that's hard to explain
completely. Now I feel like that I am ready for it.
So you may try to talk to your LG to see what's his plan and his feeling
about it. Just by comparing him with others may put him into a pressured
position that he's not liking. He can start thinking about it, and whatever
more he needs to do, get it going.
