UI Engineer
Opportunity
Healthline, a fast growing health technology company in SOMA, is looking for
an engineer with deep skills in front-end web development and
implementation, and a passion for building great web-based user interfaces.
You’ll be building applications that change consumer behavior, and
helping to productize our cutting edge search and taxonomy technologies into
scalable products for the $50 billion health information technology market.

Responsibilities
Elegantly implement page designs in standards-compliant cross browser HTML,
JavaScript and CSS.
Collaborate with the design team to define the information architecture,
advocating Web interaction design best practices with a focus on consistency
and usability.
Manage the overall visual design for web products, including all branding
and navigational elements.
Author complex Web pages using JSP, JavaScript, HTML, AJAX, JSTL and XML.
Work closely with back-end developers to find ways to push the limits of
existing Web technology in service of creating the best possible user
experience.
Knowledge/Skills & Abilities
2-6 years of software developing experience, java experience preferred.
Working knowledge of industry standard visual design tools (Photoshop,
Illustrator).
Experience with JavaScript libraries (JQuery a plus)
Strong Web application design skills, including information architecture,
interface design and visual design.
Ability to understand and interpret existing site design and style guides to
inform your work.
Excellent project management skills: self-directed and capable of working
effectively in a highly kinetic environment.
Excellent communication skills: able to facilitate your own meetings as
necessary, comfortable working with all levels of the organization.
Proven expertise with: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DOM, XML, AJAX.
Familiar with: Java, JSP, JSTL.
Bonus if you're familiar with: Flash, Responsive design and Spring Framework.
