我现在的F-1签证9月到期，所以打算9月中旬就开始工作，之前这段时间回国。我暂时
打算4月中旬申请OPT，材料在5月上旬寄到，这样经过3个月的处理时间正好在8月份可
以批准。
问题是，如果我8月份还不能毕业，需要多待一个一个学期，这个OPT还有效吗？我看精
华区有人说必须申请撤销已经生效的OPT，有人说没关系。。。谢谢

yes work authorization is still good, but you need to register as a full
time student too to keep F1 valid if you do not graduate.

多谢多谢啦！我听到最多的也是这个版本，可是我一和学校国际学生办公室说这个可能
，那个印度头头就会晃着脑袋和我说，this is bad...然后告诉我这个不行。如果真是
不能毕业的话，我在那个学期可以申请Filing period leave of absence吗？这样做了
是不是我的OPT就会浪费掉3个月。多谢

once a post-comp OPT is requested and approved, the new I-20 you just got
with OPT annotation will be the last one you can have with this degree
program. You can no longer extend I-20 for this degree program if you
don't graduate before this I-20 last day. you are out of F1 status. To keep
valid status in this case, you must change to H1 or apply for another F1
degree program, or AOS,... if eligible.

，这个新产生的I20的最后日期是7月15日吗？谢谢

你们学校的ISS会根据你请求的OPT起始时间做一份新的I-20给你。比如你打算申请今年
7月15日开始的POST-COMPLETION OPT,你的新I-20的首页的有效期将会被改成到2013年7
月14日，同时I-20的第3页会被加注，表明你申请2013/7/15-2014/7/14的工作许可。

Sigh,那我还是确定了具体毕业日期再申请吧。。。老板毕了业还压榨阿。。。多谢多谢
