CDN的定义：

其他题我都能理解，至少理解到底是做嘛的、什么目的。
这题就不太懂。
CDN不是已经很成熟了么？还怎么Design？
有什么要点？

(1) 新增3封独立推荐信(1法国教授也是欧洲科学院院士, 1以色列教授他们组要过

特别谢谢大蜜bigbigbee指出俺原来推荐信的问题. 新的推荐信中直接用了original
contributions significant, garnered international recognition, etc.
(2)加了Essential Science Indicators (根据citation数，给俺的几篇一作文章算
ranking percentage. response中只提了四篇文章的ranking: 1篇 top <1%, 1篇 top
~1%, 2篇 top <10%
(3)重新写了CONTRIBUTION部分, 把相关EXHIBITS的成三类 (Testimonies from
worldwide experts, Objective documentary, Documentary evidence, 具体细节见

俺的策略
Step 1: 只有 “original” “significant” 的工作才能发表到top journal, 给出
journal排名, 摘抄评审关于 “significance”, “novelty”, and “broad
interest” 的意见 (俺发文章的几个journal都要求评审给出这几项的具体level, i.e
., highest, high, etc.)
Step 2: 俺的工作对其他scientists的影响（从６个方面谈：Study Design,
Materials Preparation, Explaining results, Result comparison, Theoretical
Calculation, Extended Work）给出具体实例, 并挖掘引用者的背景（譬如院士,
Fellow, Director 啥的) 强调是被top journal引用的。
Step 3: worldwide experts的独立推荐信, 摘抄某项工作的某几句点评, 只留关键性
形容词, 略掉技术性语句

(4) 仔细读了USCIS的RFE letter 之后才恍然大明白, IO审材料时分两步，先看是否满
足十条中的至少三条，再看是否有sustained international acclaim, 是否是top
small percentage
所以俺response的第二部分就是先通过worldwide citations, leading professional
journals with global circulation的审稿邀请, 多次的国际会议报告, 加独立推荐人
的评价来表明sustained international acclaim; 然后通过发表期刊的排名 (top<5%)
, 一作文章的 citation ranking (top ≤ 1% or top <10%), 引用俺文章的期刊排名
(top 0.1~5.3%), book chapter邀请, Sigma Xi的membership (俺比较了Sigma Xi的
member数和联合国教科文组织给的全球researchers人数, 说只有top 1% researchers
could be invited to be a member of Sigma Xi society), 和独立推荐人的评价来证
明top small percentage

CDN 的核心是如何cache大文件，感觉跟哪个LRU的design 题类似。如果是video的话还
可以考虑对某些content要edge server自己做transcode来优化,

CDN究竟是干嘛的？恕在下智商低。
举个例子，比如我要看netflix，中间有个CDN在做cache吗？
这个CDN应该是个独立的产品/服务，还是Netflix自己维护的？

大部分公司都用Akamai，还有几个其他的，牛X的自己建，好像我果，油管都有自己的
CDN。印象中Netflix也是自己的

一种是用Essential Science Indicators (ESI) by Thomson Reuters ISI Web of
Knowledge的percentage table, table分了领域和发表年份，根据自己文章的citation
numbers确定自己文章的percentage ranking
另一种是在ISI Web of Knowledge (www.webofknowledge.com), 自己设关键词和年份
，然后看自己的文章排在第几位

我的方法比较笨，我有Researcher ID，做了publication list, 用web of science看了
每一个他引文章的Web of Science Categories和Research Areas，然后自己做的表格
因为我的Researcher ID自动生成的subject areas比较少
