我的H1b最后employment date是03-31-2014. 申请了H4，Receipt date是03-06-2014.
从网上看有receipt就可以合法居留了。后来收到H4的approve notice start from 04
-17-2014。所以从3月31日到4月17日是不是out of status呢？请前辈指教，多谢了！

不是， h4就是这样的，我也碰到过，没有问题
h4的approve的i797上有receipt date。rd比h1的expiration date前就ok了

是out of status。也是合法居留。
