once h1b is approved, then your opt is no longer in effect.
you can still look for a job with h1b. Keep in mind since your h1b is with
non-profit (not subject to cap), if you want switch to a for-profit job, it'
s going to be tricky -- that is, more likely (given the past a couple years
of data) your employer will need to submit your h1b petition by April 1st,
but you cannot start working till Oct 1st. Good luck finding an employer to
do that -- a more common way is the employer will apply for O-1 visa for you
, while preparing to file your h1b the year after.

yes, switching jobs among non-profit is no problem
your new empolyer will simply issue a h1b transfer, generally takes a month.
