再也不用担心EAD gap了。这意思是让大家别着急催绿,老老实实拿着EAD上班吧。
以下是公司发的一封信:
The Department of Homeland Security promulgated regulations on November 18,
2016. The new regulations, among other things, include a provision, which
states that timely filed EAD applications will result in an automatic
extension of work authorization for 180 days from the date of expiration of
the prior EAD card. These regulations go into effect on 1/17/17. This
means that if XXXX does not have his EAD by 1/17/17, he will be able to show
his EAD receipt and you can re-verify his EAD with the receipt at that time
for 180 days (beyond the expiration date of the prior card). I am
attaching the relevant page of the new regulations, which I have highlighted
for your convenience. On that date, you can reference “Auto-revalidation
of EAD per 8 CFR Section 274a.13 (1/17/17)” on the Form I-9.
