有一个ROUTER, 一个PC, 一个LAPTOP. 想把PC和LAPTOP
都接到ROUTER上,然后在WIN XP中设置使它们能相互传输
数据. 请问可行否? 如果可行,应怎样在两台机的WIN XP
中做设置?

my experience
1. better use router'DHCP(does not matter if ISP give you dynamic IP or single
static IP)
2. make sure they have same subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and same first three
number of IP,
3. use "ipconfig/all" and "ping", test if they can ping each other. if yes,
you get half work done.
4. there are two ways to share (XP home / XP pro), see below

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I do have
an ISP right now. I will try the steps provided
by gurus. BTW, I guess gurus's method should
work for more than 2 computers, right?

I don't know how you connect your PCs, so generally speaking
make sure they have same subnet mask(255.255.255.0)and same first three
number of IP and they are in the same LAN. and close any firewalls(some may be
set to reject the ping request)

you need to get both pcs connected to the same hub in order to share a LAN.
or if wireless you need a wireless router. or you if you have 2nd nic cards(
they're
10 bucks now, really cheap) for each pc, you can link them via a crossover
line.
the crossover cable cost something like $5. configure the second nic cards to
have
10.10.1.1 and 10.10.1.2 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0, do not run any routing
protocol.
wireless is the hotest way to go, though. they saves you from the clutches of
wires :)
