每次看 eclipse 启动，那个慢啊。终于有一天，不能启动了。于是到 ini 文件中，修
改内存参数，又可以用了几次。然后又支持不住了，每次都用着用着就完蛋关闭了, 说
内存不够。我的机器是去年买的，设置等都很好。
怒了，把 eclipse 全部删掉，改用 command line 和 tiny edit, 只有几百k 的小编
辑文件, 编小程序很好用.

try IntelliJ community edition,it's free.

感觉还是你参数没设好，我现在的项目上万个文件，用起来也还没问题。
启动慢不假，但不至于内存不够。

上万个文件的系统，有很大的refactor空间吧？
jdk6好像也就几千file
当然如果是static content很多，不能算数

用了几年eclipse，现在回头要用visual studio 2005/2008，那才叫别扭呢。Eclipse
还是很赞的，当然大家的经验可能各不相同。

It's understandable to hide all the porn you
downloaded in the source tree, but it's really
unprofessional to also count them in when we

No no, I'm asking why you have to install eclipse
in order to use subversion. Tortoise is excellent
for Windows users.

还是很值得那个size的，code completion加上自动显示错误，
加上search，find class/method/variable definition，实在很方便。
不用损失比较大

JCreator就十M的东西也有这些功能……

我原来用jCreator，还专门花钱买的。后来一比较，差得很远了，呵呵

Unzip eclipse要一个小时？？？你的机器肯定没问题？Eclipse最多几百兆，把它
unzip, zip来回倒腾几遍也用不了一个小时。除非你的机器是个病毒集中营。

ide for legacy.

同意。即使是 unzip 到 nfs drive 也不应该这么慢。

yep, I guess disk IO is the problem, maybe OP
doesn't have much disk space for swap. Eclipse
does scan the open projects when loading, if
disk IO is slow, it will not respond.

installation 1 hour? your machine must have something wrong. Fix your
machine first! How do other application run? slow ? fast?

Eclipse is the best IDE for java/j2ee development so far. when install
Eclipse, u just need to unzip it. just seconds, it is ready to use.

错怪 eclipse 了，我的电脑原来早中招了，现在连 Adobe 都打开不了，只能格式化硬
盘了。真是气死人了，连电脑屏幕的颜色都被病毒改了。
我的laptop 是好的，但不知为什么 unzip 特别慢，用的是 windows vista 本身带的
功能。

Windows自带的unzip就是个joke, WinRAR要快得多。

What do you think of Netbeans? I find netbeans support Web Project
development better, in terms of automate many configuration and deployment
work.
