After read your post and I did a evaluation myself. From my trial expirence,
the 永中office is not slow at all. And other reviewers from javalobby.org did
not report slowness either, actually, many were surprised by the good
responsiveness of this swing applicaiton. What is the configuration of your
pc? I guess the 永中office will have no problem to run with 256+ RAM, if no
other heavy applications running at the same time. It also starts faster than
MS Word.

I was not saying it's not good. hehe, it looked nice and professional. However
it's very slow in opening even small files,word or excel or ppt.A small excel
file opens in no time in excel but takes a good couple of seconds to get
loaded into EIO, and if you try a 9MB word file, it's taking a long time to
open it too and is much much faster in Word. And it now definitely mess up
your math equations and excel chars (especially the legends). hehe, it's a
good work, but before it hits the market (or

As I already pointed out in my last post:
When you try to open a MS Word or Spreadsheet file the FIRST TIME(!), the
EIOffice will try to do the coversion and translate the file to EIO format and
it will take lots cpu power and the EIOffice reponses poorly during this
period.
you can try to open the same file later after the conversion, it is fast. try
it yourself.

I think the investment and the boss are from Taiwan, but their headquarter is
in Wuxi, Jiangsu.
Another verdict shows that EIOffice performs quite well with a PIII 450
machine:
