what is that? Is there real development going on with c#
recently? it seems most so-called dot net project are still using
vb, which I hate much.

C#不会有很大出息,而.NET可能还会有点出息.C#的问题
在于目前只有MS支持,而高端市场的大拿比如IBM是Java
的支持者.因此C#在高端市场站不住脚.

agree, check job sites, much more jobs require c# than vb. the vb ones are
more likely upgrading from previous vb6 projects. and i've heard quite a few
companies(not small ones) are converting java to c#.

Well C# is actually an ECMA standard, which technically is even
more open than Java. And check out Mono.
I have just had an opportunity to work on some C# web application.
I find it very easy to implement a web application in .Net compared
to in Java. From a purist's point of view, J2EE may be more
"architectually correct", but in reality its steep learning curve
and lacking of IDE support as good as Visual Studio are big concerns.
