On site: Dec 2nd
Offer: Dec 9th
HR says salary is non neogotiatable!
Any one who had experience with bloomberg? Is that true in your cases?

Many sent private mail asking about interview process and my background. I will just answer you all here.
Interview process:

[2] a few emails back and force collecting information about me (GPA, eligibility)

Did he possibly have previous work experience?
BTW, I am fresh Phd, without real work experience, a few internships aside
Glassdoor reports salaries all the up to 105k.
90k is kind of disappointing, given it is the big apple.
But there is not much to be done.

Depends on how big the internship is.
HR already said non-negotiable,
then it definitely cannot in your case.
By the way, it is unfair to assume it should pay high.
Instead, ask yourself a question:
if you are really strong enough,
why not go with high pay positions in GS, Google,
Microsoft/IBM Research, facebook, amazon,
why here complain it pays too low?
If you cannot get any one of those offers,
even this amount of salary is overpaid.

I am just trying to let people know the market, not trying to complain or
show off.
I do have a couple of offers from the companies you mentioned, and FYI, they
dont pay more than bloomberg, at least on the face value of the salary.

Sees careful, I mentioned MSR not Microsoft SDE.
I don't think they pay low according to the past offers reported here.
Also, please consider the situation, lots of them are in Seattle,
no state tax, city tax, live with low cost.

不是啊，你评评理，
上来发帖，从来不贴面经，直接报offer，
这就算了，但是工资明明挺高了，还说低，
我几个同学在bloomberg里，
top 50的cs phd，也基本上才8万5，
他这样还确信pay低了，这不是误导人吗？
万一版上有人也拿到了，发现比这个低，
去争那么几千块，最后争没了offer，怎么办？
你说的对，版上大多还没有offer，
原来拿offer是该恭喜的，但是这个报法，实在无语。
相信版上不少人和我有一样的想法。

Lets just agree to disagree. There is no point comparing oranges with apples.
Been with MS for a while, I probably know a little of what you are talking
about. For the caliber of the MSRers' talent, their pay is nothing.
Just to throw it in the open, no matter what kind of position it is, MS,
google, Amazon are not know for paying well. For those who can survive a job
in google, they can easily make 2ice that much in somewhere else if they
wanted.

这些数据有代表性吗？
你不能说这个网站有名，就一定正确，
bloomberg并没有官方认可这个网站的数据，
在你不完全了解数据源的情况下，你不能用这个做根据来推导。
其实，如果我没记错，上面的工资也是人报的，
不排除有不是bloomberg的人，故意去pump价钱。
或者报的人填高了自己的工资。
反正没有法律效率。
最后，我不多说了，你知不知道没根据pump工资的危害，
一般面试的时候都会问期望薪水，要是别人因为误导，
报高了期望太多，直接影响拿不拿得到offer。

I totally agree with and understand you, dude, 90K is not that good for a
PhD
some carps just thought everybody wants to pure show off with an offer (I
guess they will bso if they have one), while i belive you just want to

$90k base is not much even for microsoft SDE level 61 above (junior to
intermediate level), not mentioning google

what are you talking about? Couldn't you even post the interview experience
for other offers that you've got? They are all trivial?
Without knowing some figures of your other counter offers, there isn't much
point in discussing one offer is too lower or too high for you.

so FYI, on glassdoor check "Years of Experience < 1 year", you will feel bet
ter.

They are paying you more than they would usually pay to the people with the
