area. 1B1B can be as low as $ 700/month.If you could get family house from
UCR, you only need to pay 500 dollar/month. But still this salary is not
high though.

I think UCR and UCSD are different... Riverside is rural compared to SD

riverside is a LOT different from san diego. while 50k is enough to get by,
it's barely enough.. also, overall riverside is not known for its safety.

i think this is a high salary for postdoc
i knew a lot postdocs in UCSD/scripps only have 36-4*K/year
and have 1-2 children
